Date: September of 2021 (no tournament in 2020 due to schedule)
Time: Opening ceremony and official 720 qualification round begins at 9:00am on Saturday, optional elimination matches are estimated to begin at 3pm Saturday
Location: Clover Hill Athletic Complex,  17701 Genito Road, Moseley, VA

Format: This tournament will consist of a 72 arrow single distance ranking round using two lines of archers (AB/CD), followed by a break and then optional elimination matches using cumulative score for compound archers and set points for recurve and barebow archers. Arrows for the 720 round will be shot in six arrow ends of four minutes per end, with a total of 12 ends shot for score. Elimination matches will be shot in three arrow ends with two minutes per end, five ends for compound archers and 3-5 ends for recurve and barebow archers depending on set points earned. Electronic scoring will be used for this event through Rcherz. This event is Star FITA registered, both Nationals and World records are eligible to be set.

            Full details for the elimination rounds will be posted as we get closer to the event. Some age or gender divisions may be combined for eliminations to form more complete brackets. Archers who have never shot an elimination round are welcome and encouraged! Come learn how the rounds work in a friendly and fun environment with some excellent competition from across the Mid-Atlantic "Old Dominion" region.

 

Awards: High quality custom medals will be presented immediately following the qualification round once all scorecards are verified. Separate awards will be presented for the optional elimination rounds, we are considering either trophies or some custom item (belt buckle, engraved pint glass, etc) and will announce the award prior to the event. This tournament is also registered as a Star FITA event, making it possible to earn WA Star pins and set world records as well as National ones.

Registration: Registration will only be taken online and is not complete without payment. If you have trouble with the online registration system or do not receive a confirmation email, please email goldenarrowarchers@gmail.com for assistance. No walk up registrations will be accepted on the day of the event.

Practice: Two ends of official practice will take place immediately before scoring begins each day. The range will be open on Friday, September 13 for unofficial practice from 4-6:30pm.
 

Rules: All USA Archery rules and regulations will apply. Equipment will be checked during inspections prior to shooting. Dress code will be strictly enforced (closed shoes, no camo clothing, shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh length, no sleeveless tops, etc). Go to www.usaarchery.org for full details. 
 

Food/Drinks: No food or drinks will be available on site for this shoot.  Please bring plenty of water, there is no running water on site to refill water bottles.
 

Facilities: No seating will be provided - please bring your own folding or camp-style chair for all archers and spectators. Pop up canopies for archers will be provided but additional ones, especially for spectators, are highly recommended. Multiple portable toilets will be available on site. There is no running water, please bring plenty of water to drink. The site is fully wheelchair accessible for both athletes and spectators.

Inclement Weather: Archery generally takes place rain or shine. Only in the event of very severe weather will the tournament be delayed or postponed at the discretion of the host.

Refunds: Injuries and schedule conflicts happen, but unfortunately we can not offer refunds for things beyond our control. Please be sure of your commitment before registering, there are no refunds for cancellations. Para Archers are welcome in any class. Please indicate your Para Archery classification in the comments of the online registration form as well as any special accommodations you might need.

Age Groups*:

Bowman (through year of 12th birthday)
Cub (through year of 14th birthday)
Cadet (through year of 17th birthday)
Junior (through year of 20th birthday)     
Senior (any age)
Master (50 or over)

Master 60+ (60 or over)

*The age you are on Dec. 31st 2020 is the age group you shoot all year. Archers in the youth divisions may "shoot up" to a higher age division if desired. All archers may shoot as Seniors at any time.

Distance/Target Face Size by Division

Directions to the field: Follow your GPS or online directions to the Clover Hill Athletic Complex located at 17701 Genito Road in Mosely, VA. Turn in to the complex and take the first right toward the ball fields. Look for signs for field #8 on the right hand side. Park near the field and walk over the wooden bridge to the range.
