Get certified to teach archery!

Are you interested in furthering your knowledge of teaching archery, starting an archery club, or looking to learn to teach outdoor sports for a local park, resort, or summer camp position?

This two-day hands-on course will certify you as a USA Archery Level 2 Instructor. There are no prerequisites for this course, Level 1 is included in the Level 2 course program and no previous archery experience is required to become a Level 2 Instructor. Everything needed to teach basic archery classes or start an archery club will be covered, including learning how to set up safe ranges indoors and outdoors, range safety and commands, the specific steps of archery, equipment types and how to use and service them, and much more.

This is an active class and participants will learn by doing, including shooting basic beginner bows and coaching one another. Participants should pack lunch for both days and dress for both indoor and outdoor range time (weather permitting). A successful passing score must be achieved on the practical and written exams for certification. This course is being held through Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation and is taught by a USA Archery Level 4 NTS Coach and experienced archery teacher and competitor. In order to be officially certified, there are additional membership costs and a free online SafeSport course required by USA Archery that can be completed at any point following the successful completion of this two-day course.
